About KAC Studios
I have always had a love for design. Being an artist, that love has permeated my art and sculpture but has also influenced the products I buy for my own daily use and lifestyle. I appreciate things that are visually pleasing but that also have a functional component to them. When I started exploring ceramics I would make things for my own use that I could display but also use in a practical way. I believe the more we appreciate the visual and functional aspect of something the more it becomes something we keep forever and not put away in a cupboard.
Friends and family who saw my work would ask if I could make one for them and that’s where I starting getting serious about making this a business. What a great combo, loving the work you create and having others appreciating and wanted to own it as well.
The more unique and one of a kind a design becomes with a functional component the more it is valued as art. My handmade objects are handcrafted with quality and sustainability in mind. Small production runs to control quality and consistency. I strive to keep my home goods durable and the collection special and unique.
What I learn from what I create I share in teaching others in workshops at local pottery studios.
